Costa Rican movement artist and educator. Their practice centers on deconstructing colonial frameworks through embodied research, using movement and body perception as tools for reclaiming identity and cultural memory. Trained in both classical and contemporary forms, María Paula blends technique with experimentation, often incorporating film, projections, and installation to create immersive, interdisciplinary experiences.
They have participated in artist residencies, including Denver Digerati (2023), The Field in England (2024), and most recently with Little By Little in March this year, at the Brooklyn Peace Center.
